Privacy Policy – Berlin Crow Nest Cam station
Last updated: 7 November 2026
What this is
"birdcam station" is a small private program run by the owner of the YouTube channel Berlin Crow Nest Cam (@BerlinCrowNestCam). It helps the owner follow and answer the live chat of the channel's own bird camera stream.
What it does with YouTube data
- It reads the public live chat of the Berlin Crow Nest Cam live stream through the YouTube Data API.
- It forwards new chat messages (the author's public display name and the message text) to the channel owner's private Telegram chat, so the owner can read them on the phone.
- When the owner answers one of these messages, it posts that answer to the live chat as the Berlin Crow Nest Cam channel. It never posts anything the owner did not write.
- It only has access to the Berlin Crow Nest Cam channel. It does not use anyone else's YouTube account.
What is kept
- The program keeps the display names of about the last 300 forwarded messages, so that an answer reaches the right person. Messages that arrive at night are kept until the morning, then sent and deleted.
- Chat messages are not written to logs or databases, not analysed, not sold and not shared with anyone except through the owner's private Telegram chat (Telegram's own privacy policy applies there).
- No advertising, no tracking and no profiling.
Google API Services
This program's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube data is handled under the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Removing your data or access
Viewers can ask for their messages to be removed by email to henrik.lehtikangas@gmail.com. The channel owner can remove the program's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
